Freedom of thought and feeling

Since the sexual revolution that started in the sixties, previous age in the west, has bred some excesses too, it’s now time to think about the idea of shame.

Looking at the pop stars of the hippy time, that expressed a process of liberation, not only sexually, but also socially and in terms of consciousness, we could say that what is meant by freedom is more about being able to feel freely the feelings in the body, body awareness, not always having to act it out, unless it’s your true lover. So it’s not so much about unlimited free sexual behavior as it was thought of as freedom.

We in the west, by some films and by some art and books, in fact learnt not to listen anymore to natural feelings of shame.

Updated therapeutic approaches give space to observing, processing and feeling freely what ever presents itself in ourselves without judging or condemning. This so in order to free us from the garbage of the past and conditionings that keep us stuck.

We could say that an impulse for awakening and liberation, strongly felt in the hippy time and going underground after that, refined itself. Less visible on the outside.
Groups of people flocked together in this process to work on themselves and books were written to be read and films made for watching. This availed individuals to work with it as well.

From the heart we focus at feelings like resentment, anger, sadness but also suppressed joy and love. That way negative feelings are melting, solving in the neutral watching of them from the core where we won’t lose Self esteem because of the dis-coveries.
